Fishing Planet: Valkyrie Saga Pack Review โ Big-Game Boat & Heavy Gear
A content pack that throws a massive Valkyrie fishing boat, electric tackle and a 60-day premium/license at you. Great for big-game and co-op bottom fishing, but some electric reels feel underpowered for the price.
The Valkyrie Saga Pack is one of those DLCs that screams 'I mean business' โ a 15m ice-breaking boat, heaps of tackle and a 60-day Norway license. If you like Fishing Planet's slow-burn MMO loop and dream in line-tests, this pack pushes you straight into big-game, rough-sea setups.

Core gameplay stays classic Fishing Planet: spot fish, pick the right tackle, and work the fight. This pack leans hard into big-game and bottom fishing with a Valkyrie boat that offers four fishing spots, 12 rod holders and a huge refrigerated hold that boosts XP and credits โ practically built for group grinding. The included electric rods and reels promise easier landings, though community feedback (and my own fiddling) shows some electric reels lack torque and force you into manual reels on bigger catches. You get three bottom-electric setups pre-tuned for heavy fish, an enormous selection of leaders, lines and tungsten hooks, plus 50 repair kits and a stack of marker/navigation buoys to map the fjords. The 60-day Premium and Norway license open premium ponds and boost income, so if you plan to grind for trophies and credits it's a practical short-term boost. Multiplayer fits nicely โ the boat's four seats make co-op bottom sessions actually fun instead of chaotic. Downsides: for solo players the pack's value is less obvious unless you really use the storage and premium time; and the boat being 'not fish-friendly' feels at odds with the game's gentle simulation vibe. Overall, itโs a toolbox for dedicated Fish Planet players who want to focus on heavy tackle and big fights.

Valkyrie Saga Pack is a strong, narrowly-focused DLC for dedicated Fishing Planet grinders โ excellent gear and a fantastic boat, but not without compromises. Buy it if you plan to run heavy tackle and multiplayer sessions; skip it if you only fish casually.

Pros
- Massive Valkyrie boat with huge storage and XP/Credit bonuses
- Comprehensive heavy tackle: electric setups, tons of leaders, hooks and bait
- Good for co-op bottom fishing โ four player slots and 12 rod holders
Cons
- Some electric reels feel underpowered (low torque) during big fights
- Value-for-money is questionable unless you use the premium time and storage a lot
Player Opinion
Players praise the Valkyrie's speed, storage and the pack's suitability for multi-person bottom fishing โ it turns grind sessions into efficient money- and XP-farms. The recurring gripe: electric reels sometimes lack torque, meaning medium/large fish still need manual reeling. If you enjoy methodical simulation and group fishing, you'll likely love the pack; casual drop-ins may find it pricey.
